Fra Beecher is a multidisciplinary artist, life model and wild swimmer. She is also the director of United Models Life Drawing. Her creative practice is informed by her modelling work and her connection to Bristol’s River Avon. Working with photography, writing, drawing and sculpture, Fra enjoys collaborating with others and offering participatory experiences within the gallery space.
During her residency at The Launderette, Fra facilitated life drawing, collage and writing workshops, which allowed members of the community to share in her practice and to experiment with new processes. Fra also made new work exploring her relationship with water. With support from swimmers, artists and curators, Fra evolved her practice and found further ideas to explore in future. This experience was invaluable for her practice. She intends to make a printed publication which will include her own work, together with outcomes from the workshops.
